05Perform

You've hit the ceiling of what working harder fixes.

Executive, life and sport coaching for people with something to do. Clearer thinking, steadier nerves under pressure, and someone whose actual job is to hold you to what you said you'd do.

You're in the right place if…

  • Effort is no longer the variable, and you know it.
  • You perform well and cannot seem to enjoy any of it.
  • There is a transition you keep almost making.
  • You are the one everyone leans on, and nobody asks who you lean on.
  • Your nerves cost you at exactly the moment it matters most.
  • You want accountability from someone who is not a friend being kind.

If some of this reads as "things are fine, I just want them sharper" — that is a perfectly good reason to start. Coaching is not reserved for people in trouble.

What working together looks like

No mystery, no long intake process. Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.

  1. 01

    A free fifteen minutes

We test the fit and name the goal in plain language. If what you actually need is counselling rather than coaching, I will say so — I do both, so I have no reason not to.

  2. 02

An assessment, if it earns its place

The Energy Leadership Index or COR.E Dynamics, when a baseline would sharpen the work. Not automatic, and never billed as a rite of passage.

  3. 03

    The work

Regular sessions on the thing you came for, plus the pattern underneath it. Direct feedback, and questions you will not enjoy at the time.

  4. 04

    Accountability between sessions

In whatever form actually works for you rather than the form that sounds impressive. For some people that is a weekly line of text. We will find yours.

How the work goes

Forward-facing, specific, and I will hold you to what you said.

Coaching is forward-facing. We start from where you want to get to, work backwards to what is actually in the way, and then do something about it every week. You should be able to point at what changed.

I ask direct questions and give you my honest read rather than the encouraging version. That is most of the value: almost everyone senior enough to need coaching is surrounded by people with a reason to be diplomatic with them.

Where a baseline would genuinely sharpen the work, the Energy Leadership Index or COR.E Dynamics assessments are available — used when they earn their place, not as a default. And because I trained as a counsellor too, if what is in the way turns out to be something older than this quarter’s goal, we can deal with that properly instead of coaching around it.

  • Professional Certified Coach (ICF)
  • Certified Professional Coach
  • Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner
  • COR.E Dynamics specialist

Who you'll work with

Lauren Harnett

Counselling & coaching · EMDR, Gottman, SYMBIS

That's me — there's nothing to choose here.

“I had a great experience being coached by Lauren. I felt it was a safe space to discuss ideas and grow; with keeping accountability and looking at things differently.”

Questions people ask first

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching starts from the assumption that you are well and want to be sharper. Counselling works with what hurts and why it keeps happening. I am trained in both, which means I can tell you which one you are actually asking for.

What if it turns out I need counselling instead?

Then we say so and switch, or run them alongside each other. This is the main advantage of one person holding both qualifications — you are not starting over with a stranger, and nobody has a commercial reason to keep you in the wrong room.

Do you work with teams or through employers?

Yes. Employers frequently fund executive coaching as professional development, and I can invoice an organisation directly. What we discuss stays between us and is never reported back to your employer, within the usual legal limits of confidentiality.

How long does coaching run?

Most engagements run three to six months, often fortnightly. Sport and competition work tends to follow a season. We agree the horizon up front so it never drifts by accident.

What does it cost?

Current fees are on the About page. Coaching is not covered by health plans, but it is often claimable as professional development — worth asking before you pay personally.

Fifteen minutes to find out whether this is worth your time.

Free, direct, and specific. Bring the actual goal, not the polished version of it, and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for it.
